Arabic coffee– Ghawa

Last night I chatted with Cynthia M Voss. We discussed Arabic coffee or Ghawa. I told her I would post a picture of the special cups that are used when serving someone in the Middle East. I have a set of these cups so here they are! Don’t forget to stop over and visit her awesome blog.

  1. Love the cups and the difference between your mug and the cups is amazing. I found Middle Eastern coffee to be much stronger, like espresso so a small cup is all you need. I used to make Turkish coffee all the time, it’s delicious, perfumed and potent.

  2. Thanks, Lyn, for posting this!! These cups are so delicate and pretty. If I try to make this style coffee, I’ll use my fanciest tea cup. (I think I have two tea cups, I mostly do mugs lol) Thanks again for the info! It’s so interesting to hear about your experiences on the other side of the world. And thanks for recommending my blog, that was very sweet of you!!

  3. I thought your fingertips [on the right side] were small dyed eggs lol and I was thinking…”well, that’s a different way to prep a picture” 😀 Yea, it’s one of those days, for me, I guess.

  4. I found the most amazing shop in Brioude (a bit over an hour from here) full of every sort of tea and coffee cup and pot you can imagine. I’m a teeny bit obsessed with the idea of these teeny beauties!
