A couple of months back I went in to check on a small area under my nose. They biopsied it and it came back as basal cell. I pushed the panic button as I was already having enormous anxiety. I went to my hometown and saw a dermatologist and yesterday had surgery. It was intense and required allot of stitches and work to make things look presentable, but I am so very fortunate. I will need to be careful and monitor myself for further skin cancer and some follow up treatment to fix that area. I feel relieved and very blessed!
I want to thank you for all of your kindness and support. I never knew that blogging would mean having a second family, friends and a support system. As many of you know, the past months have brought about anxiety, ptsd issues and general stress. I have gone to therapy, meditated and willed myself to “just get over it” but nothing has worked. I have taken a small step with the help of several of you and it seems to be working. I want to give a heartfelt thank you to everyone!
Love, Lynn
Good to know you are feeling better Lynn. Take care and sending hugs and love your way.

Lynn, so sorry to read you went through an anxious time & then the basal cell surgery. Glad you are taking medication to help you. I understand what you are going through. A year ago I had extensive basal cell surgery just above the right eye. Good thoughts & prayers for your healing. 💛 Christine

Wow Christine thanks for telling me! Yes I was surprised at how extensive it was. I am feeling hopeful with the medication for the first time in years! Thanks again xx

Oh Lyn, I’m so glad you caught it soon and that they were able to remove it and reconstruct your nose. My husband has had several of these on his head and ears and arms. He’s played golf all his life and until this started didn’t wear a hat or protect his skin with the lotions that keep the sun’s rays from goind damage. So now his doc sees him every six months to check him all over to make sure nothing is growing. I pray that yours will not be back either. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

I’ve only told one other blogger, but I was diagnosed with basal cell back in May. I have yet to undergo the procedure for it, I just haven’t had the time, and then things kept happening. Maybe in the new year…

Lynz,
I am glad it worked out for you. Most of us blogging though don’t have as many supporters, but we try. I always try to like and follow those who have fewer supporters. The good news is in real life, I have some great supporters. Times can be challenging. I read about the brave young woman in Saudi who went outside without her abaya or head covering. Now, some are threatening to kill her. She is a heroine.

Oh my dear. You look miserable in that photo. And I bet the photo is only half the misery. Very painful area to have such work done on. Glad you got right on it though. Several years ago a colleague had a small spot on her very cute little upturned nose. Her dermatologist kept her in his chair without pain meds or Novocain an cut into her face, checked, then came back and cut some more, repeat, repeat. It went on for nearly 8 hours. She was devastated. But she’s still alive and everything healed. She advocates against that doctor though because he was brutal and cruel. I hope yours was more compassionate.

My doctor is an old family friend and is so kind, his partner did my surgery. They are both very compassionate and careful. That part was a joy. I am happy it’s done and will be very careful!
