Cooking and more cooking

These days have been spent; washing dishes, mixing meatballs, stirring sauce, whipping cream, adding spices, mixing dough, more dishes and quickly jotting more directions and fine tuning ingredients. My son purchased some items to make photography easier and so snapping pictures repeatedly has also been part of my daily routine. I am practicing and my kids are helping me out so for now more cooking, testing recipes and more snapping photos. I hope you are all well and I will be catching up this week.

I know my way around the kitchen but not so much around taking pictures of food! So I will take stacks of photos and in the end we will sort through them and start over if need be! Thanks for your patience while I work on this project!

Lynz spaghetti

This is clearly not any kind of authentic recipe but just my own version of spaghetti. My kids love this and I am posting it so I can put it in with my recipes. I have been making this for the past 20 years.

1/2 Pound Ground beef

1 onion -chopped

3 cloves garlic- chopped

Sauce ingredients

2 -28 ounce cans crushed tomatoes

1- 8 ounce can tomato paste

1- 8 ounce can tomato sauce

1 spaghetti spice mix-optional

1 tsp. basil

1/2 tsp. oregano

1 cup water

1 Tbs. sugar

1/8 cup Parmesan cheese

1 package spaghetti

Fry ground beef in a pan with chopped onions and garlic.

Cook ground beef  until well done. Put all sauce ingredients (except: sugar, Parmesan cheese and spaghetti )into a crock pot and whisk. Add the beef mixture and stir well. Turn crock pot on and cover. Let sauce simmer for several hours. Of course all crock pots have different temperatures and heat will vary so use your own judgement regarding temperature settings. This can also be cooked in a large pan on the stove.

In the last few minutes of cooking, add sugar and Parmesan cheese, mix in well.

Cook spaghetti, drain. Ladle sauce over cooked spaghetti.
